1. Roomba iRobot i3+ from iRobot EVO
The i3+ EVO and its sibling, the i3 EVO are the same robots, but they differ in that the i3+ has self-emptying features. The i3+ is a good option for those who want an automated, hands-free cleaning experience but are willing to manually empty the dustbin of the robot after it has filled up.
Both robots do well cleaning up surface debris from carpets and hard floors and they're very adept at maneuvering around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates intelligent maps of your home that help the i3+ EVO navigate and clean in a way that maximizes efficiency. However, unlike the i7+ and other top-rated robots that we tested, the i3+ doesn't have any obstacle-avoidance features and therefore it could get stuck on things such as socks or power cords, and it may have trouble navigating across surface transitions, such as from hardwood to carpet.
iRobot recommends clearing areas where the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, including clearing out any clutter or toys it may come across. It's also recommended to keep the bin and filter clean so they don't become clogged with dirt. If the i3+ EVO's internal bin is filled or the battery is low, it returns to its docking station, automatically empties its dirt into the station's dust bin and then resumes cleaning where it began. Battery life is about an hour and a half of continuous usage. It takes 3 hours to fully charge.
2. Roomba by iRobot
The iRobot i7+ is a top model from iRobot’s flagship line and is packed with the latest technology. It's self-charging and self-navigating. However, the most significant feature is its self-emptying bin. This will eliminate the need for regular maintenance.
The Roomba I7+ is able to better map rooms with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also works with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning tasks and control your robot using voice or through the app.
The i7+ is faster and more maneuverable in our tests compared to the eufy RoboVac G30. It also cleaned large pet hair pieces from any surface including carpeting. The biggest benefit over the eufy the dust bin is self-emptying, which removes a major source of maintenance and cuts down on recurring costs.
We were also amazed by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services which we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning session, move itself around the room and vacuum the area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was easy and straightforward using the iRobot Home app. After being connected, to give voice commands to the i7+ for example "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options for managing i7+ settings and evaluating the performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
In a world of cordless vacs that look like minivans or buses, this tiny Dyson model feels like a sports car. robot vacuum cleaner cheap has the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum for most households however, it can also fit in well next to the table for a coffee or shelves where you can move it around like an enchanted device.
The V10 is powered by a Lithium-ion battery with 7 cells of energy, which produces power that is not fading for 60 minutes. Its cleaning head is specially designed and drives bristles made of nylon that are stiff into carpet to collect large dust and crumbs. The model comes with an attached dock that charges the Dyson to 100 percent in 3.5 hours. It also provides easy access to 2 attachments and the wand. This is a significant improvement over older Dysons that require a lengthy charge and are difficult to store.
The V10's biggest drawback is its short run time. Its claims on the market that it can provide up to 60 minutes of running time are not true as CR's tests show. This is a typical and not a remarkable time for the battery-powered cordless vacuum. It's enough time to sweep a typical-sized home but not enough to get into every corner. (A second run generally works). This model has its own advantages however: it's light and more mobile than previous Dysons cordless models and its ability to vacuum is significantly better on low-pile floor carpet.
4. iRobot Roomba 694
The 694 is a basic robot vacuum that's an excellent choice for those who don't have a lot of money to spend on an expensive robot. It could pick up most types of debris and sizes during our tests, and frequently went over the same area multiple times to ensure an extensive clean. Its flat front makes it possible to reach the corners and edges of walls.
Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt to stay clear of obstacles and navigate your home, but it isn't equipped with the mapping capability of more sophisticated models like our top picks, the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. As a result, it may get stuck on things like phone cords and furniture that isn't as sturdy, and frequently runs out of battery power before making it back to its home base.
The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in most respects because it has fewer parts that require regular cleaning, is fitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, has lower recurring costs, comes with more advanced automation capabilities and does a better job moving itself. It also has a bigger dustbin and is charged faster.

The app offers a variety of options for customizing your robotic cleaner. This includes mopping levels, virtual barriers and behavior adjustments docking frequency settings and many more. The app is easy to navigate and use, just like other Samsung devices.
In our tests during our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors. It cleaned up 86 percent of dog hair (on carpet). It did not do well in avoiding taller items such as socks or cords. This was disappointing. It's also a bit more expensive than some of the other models we tested, which might be a deterrent for some buyers.
The app lets you access the camera onboard of the smart vacuum. You can also create live streaming from the robot's cleaning zone. This feature lets you monitor your pets or children when you're away from home. The filter and the dustbin can be washed for a quick, painless clean-up. The Jet Bot AI+ also comes with a clean station that self-empties and helps keep the robot's trash bin clean and optimizes suction power for each cleaning run.
6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum
Black and Decker robots are designed specifically for flooring made of hard wood. They have an extra wide cleaning path, and dust bins that are 2X larger than the competition. This allows them to clean the area for longer. They also have two side sweepers for cleaning along edges and corners. The POWERSERIES Extreme model comes with AutoSense technology, which senses the presence of surface litter or embedded dirt and automatically adjusts its power level. It also includes a smart application that lets you browse the virtual map and manage functions and schedules. You can also monitor the status of the vacuum and connect it to its dock for charging with the touch of a single button. The app lets you modify the LEDs on the top of the vacuum to discern where it is focusing or if it has gotten stuck.
The app makes it possible to manually steer the robot when needed. For instance my living room rug has a darkly colored border that has a tendency to cause confusion for other robots I've tried. The HRV 425BL however continued to travel across the border without registering the high point. And the ability to program a weekly cleaning schedule is a fantastic time-saving feature.
